> Ann, Irene and I handed out 150 flyers. Most people very concerned and upset about the outcome and wanted to get details . One person who supported Footlighters, said that she also felt it was an unjust finding.
Several people mentioned having the Grand Jury look into it. I also feel this is maybe our best bet for getting the unfairness brought to light. Our County and FB City abandoned our tv facility, at least did not help to get the case resolved amiably. Also did not help to secure equipment partially paid for by citizen tax dollars. Richard

Footlighters Unfair to MCTV
LOSING Mendocino Coast Television is sad for the North Coast –– destroying it removed an important means of local and political accountability.
That a squabble in the Footlighters’ sandbox wasn’t settled years ago, and that greed replaced responsibility has resulted in the loss of a valued community asset, public assess MCTV –– Mendocino Coast Television.
Instead, a heavy handed lawyer prevailed and convinced an inexperienced judge to rob the community of one of our most important
assets, partly funded by the City of Fort Bragg and Mendocino County taxes.
Scores of people depended on this facility to view and record sports, meetings, entertainment, local history, and more.
We in Occupy Mendocino feel bad the two entities couldn’t resolve their differences to benefit all of the community. Perhaps something might come in to take the place of MCTV, but it will be starting from scratch and will take years to become a workable and viable entity.
This is truly a sad happening for our Coastal Community and County.
We ask you to please let the Fort Bragg City Council and the Mendocino County Board of Supervisors know how you feel about the terrible loss of MCTV –– an important and vital entity that benefitted everyone while providing information that could be accessed by our County and via the internet world wide.
Probably Paul Bunyan would agree with Occupy Mendocino that a sense of civic responsibility is more important than self-centered greed.
