I often agree with you, Richard, but this time I'm with Ellen.....injustice is injustice - today our government lets the banks take our homes - tomorow could it be our bodies/lives they take - imprisoned for speaking out???

  Dear Mark,
I thought the constitutional rights of all people, especially those being persecuted for opposing injustice, was part of the Occupy agenda. I guess I was wrong?
               Peace and blessings, Ellen

    Ellen,
I don't think the Occupy listserve is the place for this petition. There are other listserves that are more appropriate.

A Palestinian woman, Rasmieh Odeh, was arrested at her home this morning, Oct. 22, by agents of the Department of Homeland Security.
She is charged with immigration fraud. Allegedly, in her application for citizenship, she didn’t mention that she was arrested in Palestine 45 years ago by an Israeli military court that detains Palestinians without charge - a court that has over 200 children in prison today and does not recognize the rights of Palestinians to due process.

    Friends,

As many of you have heard, a dear friend and essential member of the Arab and Palestinian-American community in Chicago was arrested and indicted on immigration fraud charges yesterday. This is part and parcel of wider efforts to intimidate and silence the Palestine solidarity movement. Palestine Solidarity Legal Support and the Center for Constitutional Rights prepared this statement in solidarity with Rasmea.

I signed a petition to U.S. Attorney Barbara McQuade which says:

"Drop the Charges against Rasmea Yousef Odeh"
