*Nevada County Contingent to the Global Frackdown*

Saturday, October 19, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Capitol

Several of us Nevada City are going to the anti-fracking demonstration at
the Capitol in Sacramento on Saturday, October 19, to send a message to
Governor Brown and our representatives that we will be facing one of the
greatest environmental disasters in the history of California if we allow
fracking to continue. Join us and "fracktavists" all over the world in
spreading the word about how dangerous and toxic fracking is to our
drinking, irrigation and ocean water, the air we breathe, the climate and
the soil! Bring your placards, your outrage, your sense of humor and your
cameras. We plan on having fun!

*Previous Nevada County Climate Change Coalition Events: *

*Draw the Line:* On September 21 we organized a "Draw the
Line"<http://350.org/en/about/blogs/draw-line-next-step-stop-keystone-xl>action
at Bridgeport in coordination with 350.org, to oppose the Keystone XL
Pipeline. Our action took place during the South Yuba River Citizen's
League celebration following the Yuba River Cleanup, during a rainstorm
that featured thunder and lightning. It was quite an event.

*Do the Math:* On September 27, Climate Reality Presenter Carol Kuczora
showed 350.org's movie, "Do the Math" at the Unitarian Universalist
Community of the Mountains. If you didn't make it to the movie, you can watch
Do the Math online <http://topdocumentaryfilms.com/do-the-math>.
