Show your support for a Stornetta National Monument
Dear Ann,
You have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to show your support for the Stornetta Public Lands. On Friday November 8th U.S. Department of Interior Secretary Sally Jewell and Rep. Jared Huffman will come to the Point Arena City Hall to hear from local residents about adding the Stornetta public lands to the California Coastal National Monument.
We need your help to let Sec. Jewell and Rep. Huffman know that there is strong support for protecting the Stornetta Public Lands as a National Monument!
The addition of the Stornetta Public Lands to the California Coastal National Monument would be a boon for the magnificent landscape. It would increase visitor access, improve hiking trails, and better protect wildlife like the endangered Point Arena mountain beaver and the Behren’s silverpot butterfly.
Please attend the public meeting with Sec. Jewell and Rep. Huffman, and support adding the Stornetta public lands to the California Coastal National Monument!
Where: Point Arena City Hall, 451 School Street, Point Arena, CA 95468
When: Friday, November 8 at 2 p.m. (check-in begins at 1:30 p.m.)
What: Support Stornetta becoming part of the California Coastal National Monument
Also, please take a moment to thank Rep. Huffman and Rep. Mike Thompson for their tireless efforts to permanently protect the Stornetta Public Lands!
Sincerely,
The Wilderness Society
