We've just learned the very exciting news that this Friday, November 8, Secretary of the Interior Sally Jewell is coming to Point Arena on the Mendocino Coast. She's coming to get a good look -- up close and personal -- at the spectacular Stornetta Public Lands, which as most of you probably know have been proposed for inclusion in the Coastal National Monument.On Friday November 8 Secretary Jewell is hosting a public meeting to discuss the community's vision for the continued protection of the Point Arena - Stornetta area, a remarkable place that provides great opportunities for outdoor recreation and important wildlife habitat under Bureau of Land Management oversight.The Sierra Club strongly supports the permanent protection of this amazing area by giving it National Monument status, and encourages all of our members who possibly can to attend the meeting and to share your own vision for conservation -- this is the kind of opportunity that comes only rarely.The meeting will be held at City Hall in Point Arena (451 School St) at 2PM, with sign-in starting at 1:30. It's free and open to everyone, but space is limited and advance reservations are needed. To RSVP, click HERE and fill out the simple form. While she is here, we could make a case for stopping Fracking in Mendocino County and putting some protection for our water, land and Ocean in as an ordinance. 
 Do you think that we can car pool and go to this and ask for fukushima attention, and monitoring our coast forradiation by testing, etc?
