Rupert Murdoch and the Koch Brothers are reportedly vying right now to own the Tribune Company, which publishes the Los Angeles Times, Chicago Tribune and many, many other media outlets.

So we launched an experiment to see if people would be willing to crowdsource a people's peaceful takeover instead of a hostile corporate takeover, using the platform Indiegogo.

A few days later? We just broke $116,000 in donations to buy the Tribune Company out from Rupert Murdoch and the Koch Brothers - we'd say this experiment is turning out pretty great. (And we still have a month left!)
