Hello Richard,
I appreciate your work in maintaining the list serve requirements, it must be quite time consuming.
However, I feel that my contributions thus far have been met with mostly probationary type feedback, that is to say that most of the feedback I’ve received has been about some violation to procedure. At the same time I seem to be on the receiving end of the same “violations”.
As I don’t feel that I am contributing anything of much value to the occupy forum, I am requesting that I be removed from the list serve (which is kind of ironic since I had been kicked off the list serve a number of times for reasons unknown to me and had to request re-admittance.)
I will maintain a dialog with Occupy members with whom I have established email contact outside of the list serve.
Thank you again Richard – Peace,
Tammy

Dear Tammy, The Occupy List serve doesn't allow other addresses
to be sent to the list on the same email. Send Separately. This is because extra
addresses encourage spam.
Thanks, Richard

Check out this article from Positive News (a wonderful newspaper with a companion website.) A Pennsylvania judge made an historic ruling last month that corporations are not "persons". The ruling was in a case brought by a PA township to ban corporate “fracking” for shale gas. PA townships have also managed to keep out factory farming, sludge dumping, large-scale water withdrawals, and industrial-scale energy projects.
Corporations Banned from Doing Business in Communities Where People Are Taking Action
This precedent-setting work comes from the Community Environmental Defense Fund. Read more about the landmark decision in the anti-fracking case here:

There are other articles in Positive News about successful community actions, such as local currency in Bristol (UK), legislation protecting homeowners and consumers from predatory banking institutions in Oregon, service program for San Francisco’s homeless, and building thriving public spaces or commons in Marin.
I picked up a copy of this fantastic newspaper the other day from Downhome Foods. Apparently someone sponsored a bundle (50-60 copies) of these newspapers and donated them to the store. I will be ordering a bundle this week and will try to distribute them among different groups.

Hydraulic Fracturing Draft Regulations What Happens Next?
The California Department of Conservation and its Division of Oil, Gas, and Geothermal Resources conducted five workshops in 2013 to hear public comments on the discussion draft of hydraulic fracturing regulations prior to the start of the formal rulemaking process. During 2012, seven workshops were held to gain public input on hydraulic fracturing. So, what happens next? All comments - including those given orally or in writing at the workshops, and electronically through the online comment links located on the Departments and Divisions Web sites - will be taken into consideration as the process of developing the next draft of the regulations moves forward. Once the next draft and the required supporting documents are complete, the Department will begin the formal rulemaking process. These next steps in the rulemaking process are expected to take several months, and the public can continue to submit comments during this time via the Department and Division online links. There will also be an opportunity for public input during the formal rulemaking process.
Additional details on many of the important requirements involved in the process can be found on the Departments and Divisions home pages:
