[Occupymendocino] Need to make a decision on Alley space - we need an Angel to fund

#1 Landlord of Alley space (behind Headlands) called Sheila and asked for a decision in 48 hours.

#2 Looks like Move To Amend has decided against partnering for now so the 'pool' is down to OM and Peace & Justice.

#3 We need an Angel (in addition to P&J) to subsidize the continuing rental.

OCCUPY Mendocino has over $800 in the Mendo Lake Credit Union right now so we /could/ fund a little more of a share for a (very) short time. BUT…. in my very humble and carefully expressed opinion… I believe it would be bad form(rude) to take on a rental that we can't assure at least 6 months for a caring landlord. It's a hassle to vette potential rental applicants.

Plus having to come up with $400 a month would I think wipe out kill OM - there are only 5 to 9 of us keeping things active.

The space behind Headlands is the least expensive --> $500 plus utilities and without a cost for WiFi cause Headlands service reaches that far and Lenore would very probably say OK, esp if we offered a few bucks and maybe create a few new customers.

I love the BookStore place but it doesn't have as many 'pros' as Alley space. IMO

I am in favor but we have to be sensible….

Love and Light
Jessie Lee

It's been more than a year now and I believe we could do it now ... Ann

If the Ocean Protection Coalition or any other group protecting the environment becomes part of this initial effort, there needs to some space in the name in reference to saving our planet. How about The Community Commons?
