A very good idea.  And the deeper you dig into public finances and things like Municipal Bonds, the more tangled things become.

I learned far more than I wanted to know about Fort Bragg's finances during my employment there.  Fort Bragg's $$ are deposited in the local branch of BofA.

Some Credit Unions accept govt funds, but some do not.  When I worked for the Hoopa Tribal Council, the checks came from Coast Central Credit Union. The Vashon Island set-up has been part of another e-mail distribution.
