Next week the House of Representatives will vote on one of the bills that
funds the Pentagon — The National Defense Authorization Act of 2014
(NDAA).

Our allies and others who believe in cutting Pentagon bloat will offer
amendments to rid us of the burden of boondoggles.

Call your Representative NOW at 202-224-3121 and say:
"Please support upcoming amendments that cut the Pentagon budget without
affecting troop benefits and bring all our troops home from Afghanistan
before 2014."

Believe it or not, Congress is trying to give nearly $640 billion to the
Pentagon — billions more than the law allows and billions more than the
Pentagon wants. Fortunately, there are likely to be amendments that will:

*Cut various weapons pork such as the F-35 Jet, V-22 Osprey plane and
Abrams tank;

*Reduce nuclear weapons and troops abroad;

*Bring troops home from Afghanistan as soon as possible and ban permanent
bases;

Your Representative needs to hear from you. You can reach their
Washington, DC office by calling 202-224-3121 between 9-6 PMEastern. Or
you can find their local number here:

A representative that has been voting right on these issues is Rep. Markey
(D-MA). He is running for Senate for an election to be held this month on
the 25th. Please help him get elected
here<http://org.salsalabs.com/dia/track.jsp?v=2&c=W%2B3sONDUEiGLFhLCpwaSuDpxo3r8%2BAM2>
.

So, please take a moment to call your Representative today and help put
Rep. Markey in the Senate.

In Peace,

Kevin Martin
Executive Director
Peace Action

P.S. You can help cut wasteful Pentagon spending by calling your Rep. now
at 202-224-3121 and help elect a champion on getting rid of nuclear weapons
to the Senate<http://org.salsalabs.com/dia/track.jsp?v=2&c=%2FVf0hLd3Ik9xmweSuBRBdjpxo3r8%2BAM2>
