Announcements:
1) Bill will be leaving at the end of March
for 3 months to do some work in Virginia.
2) Please watch
“How the FBI sabotaged Black America” on YouTube. 1hr long.
Please ponder what the FBI is now doing to the Occupy movement 3) Bart is
leaving on Feb 21 and will be back on March 9
4) Read the Christopher
Dorner manifesto
5) Robin will go away the first 10 days in April

Minutes:
1) Money
a. We need
$250 right now: $130 to Channel 3, $100 for the website domain, $85 for
the Methodist Church choir room
b. We have no Treasurer, no bank
account, no fundraiser
c. $127 was donated from the current attendees
toward the $250 needed. Money was given to Charlie. Charlie still has
some money left from Greg Simsik’s donation. Need another $125
ASAP.
d. Robin nominated Charlie to be Treasurer and said we can
open a
political action account but it requires a $50/yr fee
e. We will keep the Occupyukiah.info domain name $9.99 on the Feb. 20th
automatic to an unknown credit card
f. Tom Davenport recommends
another web host other than godaddy. g. Need to find out the difference
in the price between the old web host and the new one before we make the
final decision whether to change or not.
2) Forum plans
a. We
can pass the hat after the MC makes an appeal to raise more money b. We
can have a raffle but we need to solicit items for the raffle, perhaps
solicit businesses that are sympathetic to our cause
c. We can also
sell refreshments
d. If we need to postpone the date to accommodate
the Buddy Ehler
fundraiser on the 17th, we can do it.
e. We
need to push these 2 events even though they are a week apart. Bill is
taking care of everything for the 17th and only needs willing helpers on
the day of the event.
f. Charlie called the Ag Commissioner, Chuck
Morris, to speak at our public forum. But he doesn’t want to walk
into an ambush. We must emphasize to be respectful. A moderator.
g. Charlie will contact Adam Gaska or Mendocino Organics.
h. Bart
is working on inviting the Frye Ranch.
i. CCOF was disbanded.
California Certificated Organic Farmers. They transferred into the Local
Renegade.
j. Turtle Creek Assn by Els Coopperrider might have
something to do about it.
k. Scheduled speakers, followed by
questions, followed by open mike. l. Charlie will be the moderator.
m. Robin will contact Marvin Trotter
n. Steve will contact Greg
Krauss of the radio program Toxic Free Future 3) Public Bank meeting
a. Steve wants us all to show up on Tuesday to the BOS meeting. He will
call us with the exact time.
b. The meeting was initiated by Agnes
Woolsey or Occupy Mendocino to discuss the next steps toward a Public
Bank
c. The EDFC will be giving a report to the BOS on a meeting last
September which concerned establishing a county PB.
d. Wednesday is
the meeting with the County Recorder with Jed Davis. e. Steve hopes that
Tim, the BOS aide will schedule the time for this item.
f. Talking
points to convince the EDFC to get involved in establishing a PB. To
direct the executive office to join with EDFC
4) Denny’s
letter
a. Denny is writing a Free Speech Activity Policy for the
Mendocino County Sheriff. He has concluded with the 15ft “Pillar
Rule” from any store entrance.
b. Sheriff Allman want to make
a training video for his staff and Denny said they need to set a standard
policy first
c. If the CA Supreme Court Ralph’s v. United Food
& Commercial Workers Union Local 8 already decided on a more
restrictive definition last December, then how can we define the 15ft
rule? The decision is vague enough so that it leaves room for local
interpretations.
d. It is wise to pursue this. We want to
specific
e. Propose that Occupy Ukiah support Denny’s efforts.
All approved. 5) MRC herbicide update
6) Buddy Ehler fundraiser
a. Occupy Ukiah will not have to organize this event
b. Bill is
doing all the organizing
c. Occupy Ukiah only needs to show up on
March 17 to be security guards, sell drinks, set up and clean up
d. Robin will do the advertising if Bill gets the information to her
before February
7) Willits Bypass update
a. Now that the
February 1st deadline has passed re: the migratory bird laws, the bypass
is not stopped. The only difference is that they have to inspect each
tree for migratory birds before they cut the tops off. b. There will be
more resistance.
8) Wal-Mart update – see the item about
Denny’s letter
9) Labels – We need scull & crossbones
labels with the toxic effects of Roundup to go into stores and deface the
Roundup bottles with gummed labels. Maybe John John will make them.
