This GoLocal Movement sounds really good but for a Public Bank we'd need a
lot more capital, and time to educate the public about Public Banking, but
it could be a candle in the dark.I think I'll go Sun. the 17th. Anyone?
Agnes-

Is someone going to attend this event to represent Occupy ?

Upcoming Event:
Local Investing Makes Sense

Come and gain a deeper understanding of the reasons why local investing is
good not just for your net worth but also for the local economy. Learn about
the existing organizations, rules, and regulations through which local
investing can be achieved. We will also explore how individuals can begin to
move their money from Wall St. to Main St. and get safe profitable returns.
Business owners will additionally learn creative ways to access capital.

We will have an open and unscripted period where local businesses seeking
investors, and local investors seeking a particular type of investment, can
both make three-minute statements to the larger group. Small businesses
seeking capital should bring brochures, business plans, and/or prospectuses.

Speakers include Andy Schexnaydre, a value-based financial planner from
Sonoma County involved with the GoLocal Movement in Sonoma County, and Jenny
Kassan, CEO of Cutting Edge Capital, an Oakland-based consulting firm
committed to helping small businesses get the capital they need to succeed.

Date/Time: Sunday 17 February 2013, 630PM
Location: Community Center of Mendocino, in the town of Mendocino (998
School St.)
