Dear Kate,

We,the Mendocino County Public Bank Coalition, Occupy Mendocino and
Transition Towns, wish to thank Joan and Paul Katzeff of Thanksgiving
Coffee for their generosity, Kevin Silva of the Village Florist for the
big screen and gratitude to Matt Rowlin for coming to our rescue with a
power point projector. Thanks to the Good Life Cafe and the many
volunteers who made baked goods, and to Richard Karch for the sound
system. Thanks to Jessie van Sant for information about the County Charter
which would authorize a public bank. We hope to get it on the ballot with
the help of the Board of Supervisors and our petitions.

Ellen Brown honored three North Coast communities with her well researched
presentation of her latest book:The Public Bank Solution. The Crown Hall
audience got a view of the private banking system which has to make
quarterly profits for their investors whereas a publicly owned bank is
mandated to serve the public, interest is returned to the city, county or
state that establishes it. North Dakota is the only state that has a
publicly owned bank. It does not gamble in derivatives as private big
banks do. The Bank of North Dakota did not suffer in the 2008 crisis, has
3% unemployment and returned money to taxpayers from their profits.

To order her books and articles go to www.ellenbrown.com.

Sincerely,
Agnes Woolsey
