I like it, but I would add the number of fraudulent foreclosures from Agnes' info.
Regards, Mark

Just in case your reporter didn't catch the commentary about foreclosures and eminent domain at the Board of Supervisors' meeting in Fort Bragg last Tuesday, perhaps you might consider this as a letter or for the Community Forum.
<PastedGraphic-1.tiff>
This past Tuesday Oct. 16 several local Occupy people spoke before the Mendocino Board of Supervisors about the feasibility of using the peoples' power of eminent domain to break the strangle-hold that the big banks, with their fraudulent foreclosures procedures, have on our local economy.
In my unsolicited role as an 'elder' of 95+ years I reminded the Board of what my friend Franklin D. Roosevelt said in 1936:
". . . Economic royalists complain that we seek to overthrow the institutions of America . . . In their blindness they forget what the flag and the Constitution stand for. Now, as always, they stand for democracy, not tyranny; for freedom, not subjection; and against a dictatorship by mob rule and the over-privileged alike."
And in words that seem quite relevant in 2012 he spoke of "the smooth evasion that says: Of course we believe these things. We believe in social security. We believe in work for the unemployed. We believe in saving homes. Cross our hearts and hope to die! We believe in all these things. But we do not like the way that the present administration is doing them. Just turn them over to us. We will do all of them, we will do more of them, we will do them better and, most important of all, the doing of them will not cost anybody anything!"
I reminded the Board, also, that Jesus went into the Temple and cast out the money-changers, saying "My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves."
Certainly I am no theologian, but I do know that the temple I live in now is Mendocino County and Fort Bragg in particular. There is no place in my Temple for those who pillage and deal fraudulently with me and my friends.
With your power of Eminent Domain in Mendocino County, you can throw out these thieves. I hope you do it now.
Howard Ennes,
Fort Bragg
