Subject: Fight for the Future: Twitter Bomb Alert!
Hi Liz,
The recession has had a devastating impact on everybody, perhaps none moreso than the millenial generation. Between unemployment and student debt, our younger friends have had a long road to climb to adulthood. Now, Congress threatens to set them back once again.
Unless our leaders act in a responsible way in dealing with taxes and spending, automatic cuts would gut critical investments in education and jobs for young people.
We can’t let this happen.
Join our friends at Young Invincibles to “Fight for the Future” through Twitter!
What: Twitter Bomb
When:Friday, November 16th at 2pm ET

What’s the big deal?
* If we don’t act now, automatic budget cuts, will cost thousands of jobs for young adults in 2013.
o These cuts could pull nearly $40 million dollars from AmeriCorps alone in 2013
* The federal government cut $1 billion from job training for low-income young adults over the past decade.
o Currently, underfunded training programs reach fewer than 5 percent of the 6.7 million who aren’t in school and can’t find a job.
o Simply eliminating tax cuts for the top 1% would save $81 billion per year.
We need your voice to make sure the next generation isn’t forgotten. Visit www.younginvincibles to learn more about the fiscal showdown, for real-time updates, follow them on Twitterand Facebook.
Sincerely,
