 The National Campaign to End Corporate Personhood and Demand Democracy! 


HEY Richard!

GREAT NEWS! We completed the signature gathering phase of our non-binding citizen's intitiative to the Mendocino County Clerk-Recorder. Mendocino County’s Move To Amend coalition collected 5661 signatures requesting a citizens initiative ballot measure stating that human beings, not corporations, are persons entitled to constitutional rights and that money is not speech, and can be regulated.



The signatures were submitted to Susan Ranochak, Mendocino County Assessor-County Clerk-Recorder, on June 11, 2012. If at least 3250 signatures qualify after 30 days, then we will request the Board of Supervisors place the measure on the November ballot.

The first BOS meeting following the 30 day signature qualification period will be July 16th. Plan to pack the Chambers of the Board of Supervisors tentatively on Monday, July 16th at 9am. We will confirm the exact date the Sups will be discussing our ballot measure, and get back to you next week!
