MINUTES for July 7th meeting of Occupy
Fort Bragg Library
Susan Nutter, facilitator
Agnes reported on the trip to Sacramento. There were about 300
people there. Other Occupy groups have handouts, why not us? She
suggested ways to investigate and act to stop further foreclosures.
Jesse reported that Mike Thompson’s office has worked to help
foreclosed people. Their office seems to be effective. It was
suggested that we contact his congressional aides when dealing with
foreclosure issues.
Agnes moved that we fax our congresspersons to change the foreclosure
laws. The motion was carried. Also, fax the Attorney General to
investigate fraudulent foreclosures.
Jesse met with Nora Evans’ aide, who said “keep pushing, it’s
working.” Jesse pointed out that the governor could issue an
executive order to stop foreclosures until they are legal.
She urged us to sign the HBOR to Governor Brown.
Howard pointed out that illegal foreclosures are criminal acts, and
that criminals should be prosecuted.
Agnes agreed that the Attorney General has the power to prosecute.
The 4th of July parade was deemed to be successful, with good energy.
Our group was well received. There were some nasty comments, but
mostly good.
Sheila reported on MCTV Street Fair tapes, and asked for help in
reviewing them.
Linda said there were very few people at the rally on Friday.
Jesse wondered if there was interest in the Paul Bunyan parade.
Linda reported on the Senior Center Board meeting. The Board’s
policy is confused. Apparently the Center is functioning for the
“lowest common denominator, e.g., food, knitting, exercise. Some
Board members are pro-Occupy. The Board agreed to clarify their
policy. After some discussion, we agreed our next two meetings would
take place at the Library.
Howard said there will be a Senior Center policy that meets the needs
of the community. He added that we are all invited to attend his
95th birthday party at the Sr Center on the 15th.
Occupy’s presence at the Board meeting was positive. Four vacancies
are coming up in September.
Cecile moved that our meetings be scent-free. This motion was passed.
Facilitator for the next meeting will be Agnes.

OCCUPY MENDOCINO (the Mendocino Coast) and the Global OCCUPY Movement
want government of the people, by the people, and for the people -
not of the corporations, by the lobbyists, and for the richest 1%.
We stand with those who have lost their homes, their jobs, their
savings, retirements, pensions, and health insurance.
We stand with those who struggle to put food on the table and who now
work MORE for MUCH LESS.
We stand with the elderly, vulnerable, veterans, laborers, working
people, students, teachers, unions, children and our planet.
