We talked about continuing/increasing our activism - send thanks to
Sacramento for the HOBOR (Home Owners Bill of Rights) just passed and ask
Jerry Brown to sign it into law immediately, advocate (AG Harris) to start
active pursuit of investigation and prosecution of bankers for fraud, call
on Gov. Brown to enact a financial emergency 3 yr. moratorium on
foreclosures and so forth as encouraged by CJ Holmes at her website.
I think the appetite for criminal prosecution is growing because of the
continuing revelations of US and foreign criminal actions by huge banking
corporations. Iceland is jailing bankers; England is in the beginning of a
huge LIBOR set of scandals and crimes; look at CHASE in the US. It's time
for OCCUPY nation-wide to agitate and PUSH for legal action and
consequences.
In Sacramento, Agnes and I got to meet with aides for Chesboro and Evans.
Emily at Chesboro's office was nice but not very encouraging but we feel
that being a squeaky wheel is vital - we know Chesboro is "on our side" but
he is not on committees which are directly involved. Still we can keep him
informed and on our 'speed dial' to connect iwth OM.
Djibril at Sen. Evans's office was, as I have said, extremely supportive
and encouraging. He was very serious in urging us (OCCUPY) to keep it up
and step it up because what's being done is working. He stated that OCCUPY
is why things are moving for people facing foreclosure.
We did make OM a 'face' to Cheboro and Evans offices.
I urge other people to add to this list of reasons for activism, to send
FAXes to all elected representatives and send them often. Hand written
letters sent by FAX are attention attracting. If people have no FAX
access, please let's organize for written letters to be gathered and sent
by someone (like me) who has a FAX machine at home. A lot of us have FAX
capability via computer software (scan in letter then FAX vis computer) but
I will /gladly/ FAX for anyone who wants to write a letter to the electeds.
what else?

OCCUPY MENDOCINO (the Mendocino Coast) and the Global OCCUPY Movement want
government of the *people*, by the *people*, and for the *people* - *not** *of
the *corporations*, by the *lobbyists*, and for the *richest 1%*.
We *stand* with those who have lost their homes, their jobs, their savings,
retirements, pensions, and health insurance.
We *stand* with those who struggle to put food on the table and who now
work MORE for MUCH LESS.
We *stand* with the elderly, vulnerable, veterans, laborers, working
people, students, teachers, unions, children and our planet.
