[Occupymendocino] Rick's proposal

Those of us who are privileged enough to have excess money (!) would
be pleased to "give up" some percentage of our benefits. But there
are many many more of us who are not privileged, and who scrape by
every single month -- no, make that every single minute. Means-
testing is a good way to cut benefits! But across-the-board cuts,
like those the Republicans are pushing, make life terrible and much
harder for Americans whose lives are already hard. Where is the
concern for the poor and those who simply cannot afford to give up a
nickel in the national interest? What do you think the national
interest is? I think it is to care for those who are disadvantaged.
This is my view, and I do not speak for anyone else.
