Greetings, all,
We're in the process of organizing for MLK Day on Sunday, January 20.
Please join us.
Linda

12-19-12 meeting

MLK Organizing Group

Agnes, Ann, Carrie, John, Linda, Richard, Zac attended

Discussed a place to hold our January 20 MLK event. Prioritized them
as 1. Masonic Hall, 2. Catholic Church (Michael Raj is priest there
and a good speaker), and 3. Portuguese Hall. Other venues mentioned
were Evergreen, Company Store, Lion’s Hall, and Rec Hall, all in Fort
Bragg.

John mentioned Tony Coleman from Oakland as a possible speaker. He
manages Bikes4Life in Oakland and is part of One Fam, a community
outreach group. He’s been told he’s a dynamic speaker.

Carrie talked about being clear on the tone of our march. She’s been
in touch with the police and everything should be okay as long as we
stay on the sidewalks and obey traffic signals. She will begin work on
a flyer to hand out as we march.

More work needs to be done on sign making; John to begin generating a
flyer; we need to figure out food (once a venue is chosen) and the
route of the march. Linda to contact Erik Larsen of SEIU.

Next meeting Saturday, December 22 at 1:30 p.m. at the Fort Bragg
Library.
