Just thought I'd share this with you.

Solstice
It's the Winter Solstice Festival of Lights
When the shortest day meets the longest night
Like the ancient Druid and the Celt
The prehistoric Scandinavian who felt
That the Sun would cease to burn
And the warmth would ne'er return
And the bitter Winter ice would never melt

When the days grew short, the nights were cold and long
They would try to bring the Sun back
With a bonfire and a song!

Now at the darkest time of year
Somewhere deep we all share that ancient fear
So we make our houses warm and light
And sing our songs to break the gloom of night
But we're not the first to do it
Our ancestors have been through it
And the names they called this day are long since gone
Yes, the names they called this day are long since gone
But the need to celebrate continues on…..
