[Occupymendocino] Scripts for Bunyan Days. Choose the one you like

Hello All –



I know that I have not been present at but a few of the GA meetings, but I try to do my part in the community and beyond by making responsible choices and spreading the word. Just yesterday I went to CVS to get some copy paper and found that they carry only GP brand. I informed an employee that I was not going to buy the paper I need from CVS and why. She was not aware that the Koch brothers now own GP (a state park employee I spoke to recently was also unaware of this fact) and she asked me to please write down the reason I was not making the purchase so she could pass it on to management. Then, while buying 2 different brands of eco-friendly paper at Rite Aid, I shared the story with the woman working at the check out and she did not know who the Koch brothers were. This is pretty much representative of the feedback I get within our community.



Again, I know that I have not been a contributor in the way of being in the trenches with you all, and I so appreciate everyone’s tireless efforts and hard work. That being said, The line in the script that begins “The group includes...” or “Our group includes...” to me, sounds like we are not considering everyone to be a part of the 99% and kind of isolates the “Occupiers” from the rest of “The People”. I don’t know...that was just something that kind of jumped out at me.



I don’t know exactly how to educate our community regarding the dire need for solidarity in our little home town, but there’s a brochure at this site (downloadable as a PDF document) that looks like it might be helpful http://www.solidarity-us.org/site/node/3622.  I think we might reach some folks with the message if we could get some help with printing costs to spread them around, and perhaps emails from as many people, to as many people that we can come up with in our email address books.



So, these are just my thoughts for the day that I wanted to share with mis amigos de Occupy.

Here's the Occupy Mendocino Coalition.They are the 99%ers working hard for peace, equality and justice.The group includes people from 5 - 95 years of age. Their slogan is, " Occupy is a state of mind, not a destination". Like Paul and Babe, they stand for a fair and caring America. a government by the people, for all the people, not just the corporations and the richest 
1 %.
