[Occupymendocino] Minutes of Assembly 8/18/2012

The notes of The Minutes, which follow were taken by Mark and
typed by Cecile.  If you read these, and find missing information,
please feel free to write a note of addition to our list.  thank you.

Minutes

17 people attended.  Two folks came from Ukiah, who were in the SEI Union &
one person came from the Ocean Protection Coalition.   Miles was welcomed back.

PARADE:  date:  Monday, September 3rd

It was suggested that we invite various groups to walk with us;  i.e. Carrie, from Move to Amend,
& GMO, and others.  It is unclear who will coordinate this part.

Volunteers needed for carrying a large banner in the Parade.  Please let Richard or Mark know if you can.

A suggestion was made to mingle the various groups at the Parade. Richard talked about outreach to these groups.

Meeting for creating and painting signs will be at Linda Jupiter's house
at  1 pm on Aug. 29th, Sat,

Linda lives on Jupiter Lane.  Directions/  Drive Eastbound on Oak St.
until Wall St. is cited on your right.  One driveway past Wall St. is Sanderson Way (which 
has no sign, but there is a yellow water hydrant on your right, on Oak St.  Make a right
onto this alley, where Linda's house is the first house you come to, and there is a sign
that says Jupiter Lane, in front of her house(it's on your left).

Re:  Open cars........Mark and Richard are working on locating this for parade use.

Re:  Senior Center Rental Policy
No new developments yet.  There has been a $300 donor for the rent for Occupy to use.
Marcie Schorg will do publicity for the P.B. Parade.

Re:  Hospitality House

Our Reps:  Claire, Sheila, Howard, tried to attend, but were locked out.

Claire thinks that HH combines executive meetings with board meetings.
Miles mentionned that City Shelters are needed.
Jeff proposed that we continue to try to attend a meeting.
Howard suggested the creation of a Homeless Committee.
One was formed and they will meet on Wed, Aug 22, at 6:30 at Cecile's house.
However, we need to change this location because Cecile has some health problems
and cannot accommodate the Committee, because there are 8 people on it.
Irene is going to the Librar on Tues, Aug 21, to try to get the room for the evening.
She will advise on this, and it will be on the listserve, if we are to go to the library or CC's house.



The Homeless Committee consists of Claire, Sheila, Mark, Amanda, Robert, Irene, Howard, Cecile & Kim.
Cecile will phone everyone on Tues evening to advise of the meeting place.

Cypress Ridge.  No action taken, after discussion.  Recent update from residents there, is
that management will be more cooperative because of community outcry.

STAGING:
Demos in front of the Banks on Main St. will continue on Fridays 3 to 5.  There is low attendance now.
Sheila said that she feels uncomfortable standing when she is by herself.

Sheila discussed having 1/2 hour or 1 hour on MCTV.


Liason and Ethics Committee will report as needed.

Daniel suggested that we network with other Occupy Groups on Facebook.

The next meeting of our Assembly will be at Senior Center at Sept. 1, at 2 pm.
