Hi, I just acquired a Macmini2,1 (Hardware Profile) Intel Core 2 Duo
It is the "fatter" (higher) one with DVI out .

I have a set of MacOS-X 10.6.3 and Application install disks for a later
model (Mid-2010) Intel Core 2 Duo mac mini with HDMI out.

Strange thing. The application disk (Hold down "D" key while booting.)
Hardware diagnostics load fine and I can see the Hardware Profile for the
machine. But the MacOS-X 10.6.3 OS install disc (Hold down "C" key while
booting.)
says "Software cannot be installed on this machine."

Mac mini (Early 2009) - Technical Specifications
says
Software

   - Mac OS X v10.5 Leopard

https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201894
Identify your Mac mini model
says:
*Mac mini (Early 2009)*
Model Identifier: Macmini3,1
Newest compatible operating system: OS X El Capitan 10.11.6

So, this seems very weird that Macmini2,1 cannot install MacOS-X from a
10.6.3 OS install disc.

Does anybody out there have a Mac OS X v10.5 Leopard install disk for Intel
Core 2 Duo
and not G4 or G5 PowerPC?
Surely THAT should work, eh?

Thanks!

-Stewart
