[MCTG] What is Real Time Kinematic(s)?

Maybe more importantly, why do you care? First, a definition: "Real-time
kinematic (RTK) is a satellite navigation technique used to enhance the
precision of position data derived from satellite-based positioning systems
(global navigation satellite systems, GNSS) such as GPS, GLONASS, Galileo,
and BeiDou" [1]

== A brief, truncated history == "... in the 1980's when GPS was first
used for surveying, the only way to obtain centimeter-level positioning
with GPS was via post-processing." [2] RTK can give you that information
real time.

== I guess... but what can I do with it? ==
* "it allows pilots to operate in small spaces and close to objects." [3]
* "... accurate geotagging of the information the aircraft captures.", e.g.
power lines [3]
* Used in farming to precisely place rows. John Deere makes the Starfire
systems.  [4]
* Survey and construction, when precise location and placement is required.
[5]
* Maritime and drone navigation.
* Safety and rescue.

How precise? As much as 1cm (~.39") accuracy and 0.1mm precision! Accurate
location tech you can own for less than the cost of a PC [6]
