Free! Whee! Kay kicked the window out of a cop car once and didn't get 
away but rather compounded the trouble she was in. They had arrested her 
because a weird little pointy-chin elf-like guy staying in the front 
room of her house ran up her phone bill $450 in long-distance calls (!) 
and when she found out and told him to pay it he laughed and said /How?/ 
because he didn't have any money, so she told him to get out, and he 
started to but he changed his mind and tried to get back in, so she 
shoved him in the chest and shut the door. Just like that, no damage, 
just pushed him far enough so the door would shut. He went to the cops 
and said she beat him up and threw him down the stairs! They came and 
told her to come with them. She said she couldn't go anywhere because 
she had a gig with the Big Band that night. They grabbed her, there was 
a scuffle, they handcuffed her, put her in the back of the cruiser with 
her hair and her band clothes all messed up, and then at the station 
they walked away and left her alone in the car for ten minutes, so. Um, 
I'm recalling something that didn't register until just now: I think 
that phone bill guy was the same one who later sold time on commission 
for KMFB, who had a liver transplant and that or the drugs for it made 
him cranky and nervous-angry all the time, and he used to call me on my 
show in the middle of the night from Ukiah (long distance) and scream at 
me to stop talking and reading stories and just turn the oldies 
automation back on, because he heard something he didn't want to hear 
and felt he had the authority to stop me, even though I sold and managed 
my own show and it had nothing to do with him. I think that was that 
same guy. Keith, or Kevin, or something. Kurt? Anyway, here, this girl
