Subject: Memo of the Air: Good Night Radio all night tonight!

Hi! Marco here. Deadline to email your writing for tonight's (Friday
night's) MOTA show is around 7pm. After that, send it whenever it's
ready and I'll read it on the radio /next/ week.

Half an hour into the show, meaning 9:30pm, I'll play this summer's San
Francisco Mime Troupe radio play series: /Persistence/. Tonight: Episode
9, a /discussion/ about last weeks episode /Hoboes In Space/, and about
homelessness in general. (that goes till 10pm), then lots of local work,
including a poem by Mickey Chalfin, three poems by /driven/ David
Herstle Jones (ThinkInTheMorning.com), press releases by local
authorities, news of the area and beyond, as well as stories by
Sebastian Iturralde of Belgium, andy by /the/ Brian Aldiss of the great
hereafter, the reanimated and reinvigorated Comtesse DeSpair's posts to
her Morbid Fact du Jour crowd (many around here number among that crowd,
not necessarily in Goth drag, passing seamlessly for mundanes) and the
general tragicomedy of worldwide existential
on-one's-toes-and-tenterhooks-ness. Another long, interesting show in
store, if I do say so myself, and why shouldn't I? After the personal
events of the past few weeks I'm a little sleep deprived, but we'll see
if I can once again make good on all my promises, and if I can't, after
so long in the industry, so what. (I'll be talking a little about that too.)

Memo of the Air: Good Night Radio is every Friday, 9pm to 5am on 107.7fm
KNYO-LP Fort Bragg as well as anywhere else via
http://airtime.knyo.org:8040/128
(That's the regular link to listen to KNYO in real time.)

Any day or night you can go to https://MemoOfTheAir.wordpress.com and
hear last week's MOTA show. By Saturday night the recording of tonight's
show will also be there.

As if all that weren't enough, also at
https://MemoOfTheAir.wordpress.com there's an abstract sculpture of
Cotton Mather on a pogo stick --not a literal one, but one with
educational and amusing items stuck all over it to harvest like
enjoyable colony job assignments until showtime, and also between
shows-- items such as:

At first it was just fun. Then it became more like that New Yorker
cartoon of a woman in the other room saying, "Are you coming to bed,
dear?" where the man out in a cone of light at the desktop computer says
over his shoulder, "I just can't now. Someone on the internet is wrong!"
And now it's like this:

By next year, if we haven't all burned up or drowned, it'll be more like
The Neural Yorker twitter page, and all the bitchers and whiners and
meanies out on the street, out of imaginary work, replaced by machines
that have learned to bitch and whine for them (and cartoon and do
standup comedy and drive a truck and cook and placate angry customers
with A.I.-generated /bedbug letters/ and walk the dog and change
diapers) with steadily improving efficiency, not like people, who long
ago plateaued in all those areas.

"...And the tardigrade conspiracy is that tardigrades exist. When they
clearly don't. There's no such thing as a tardigrade. It's a total lie.
A total Democrat lie. Sure, they can show you a tardigrade, just like
they can show you a talking sponge, or people eating pizza in the
"International Space Station". That doesn't make it real. Show me where
it says tardigrade in the Bible. Go on. Because you can't. And if this
school board continues to push the Tardigrade Lie on our children, we
are coming for you!" [Ma'm, you three minute have expired.] "That's all
I got ta say. /You are all demons from Hell and you have been warned!/"
[Edgy cheering erupts in the meeting hall. The air reeks of steamed pink
righteous fear sweat even with the cross-breeze of the transom being
open to the hallway.]
