Memo of the Air: Good Night Radio, 9pm to 5am tonight (Friday, Jan. 10)
on 107.7fm KNYO Fort Bragg (and 105.1fm KMEC Ukiah, and via KNYO.org),
live from KNYO's shop at 325 N. Franklin, next door to the Tip Top bar.

I think Kylie Felicich and Alice Williams will be coming by tonight so
we can have a quick meeting, on the air, to set up production of their
brand-new soon-to-be-live radio drama /The Thief Lord/, coming in a week
or two to a radio station near you (KNYO or KMEC), which I am thrilled
about --/thrilled/, I tell you. If they don't make it, it's okay; I know
they're busy. Eleanor Cooney will be calling around 10pm to say more
about her latest earthshaking tour-de-force that rips the lid off the
American war in Iraq... That's what I know so far. And I have more
material on other subjects (science, literature, poetry, current and
historical events, etc.) to read to you tonight than I have ever brought
to read before, so there's no danger of dead air, except if there's
electronic or psychic sabotage by the minions of Satan, but there's very
little to be done about that; they're everywhere and more powerful and
mischievous than ever, since the Grays and the Lizard People abandoned
Earth (and us), dammit. Especially the Lizards; while they were here
they gave us vacuum tube technology, still used in the finest of theater
sound systems, and some (limited) protection from Earth-orbit-crossing
asteroids, and chocolate cheese (yum!), and all they asked for in return
was just the standard respect you'd give any alien overlords, and we
treated them like unwelcome relatives from the wrong side of the family,
and I'm sorry. The Grays I could take or leave; they just stood around
disguised as lightbulb-shaped things and opened and closed their giant
all-black eyes. Maybe they were doing something good and not making a
fuss about it so we didn't notice. I dunno.

Deadline to /email/ your writing to be read on the air tonight is 6pm or
so. If you're not done by then, send it whenever and I'll get it when I
get home from the radio station tomorrow morning and then read it on the
air next week, see above. Or phone tonight and read your work in your
own voice: 962-3022. If it's busy or just rings and rings, there are
reasons for that; try again in ten minutes or so.

Anyway, here are a few simple educational amusements to bobble before
your eyes and ears until showtime:

Italian Spiderman. Bella ciao, criminals.

The Mandalorian as a spaghetti western. /Oo-eeyoo-eeyoo. Wah-WAAA-wah./

And thousands of pulp magazines from the '30s, '40s and '50s to choose
from, to download and read on your computer, tablet or phone. It's all free.
