I don't usually announce details of a show in advance, so bear with me,
here:

MOTA: Good Night Radio tonight will feature an elaborate presentation by
musical folklorean Holly Tannen. And, later on, local historian of both
fictional fiction and factual fact Eleanor Cooney, writer of the
freshly-published /Midnight in Samarra/ will pop the fricking lid off
the true story of WMD, greed, and high crimes in Iraq. And also all the
regular expectations for a MOTA Solstihannukwanzissimus show, including
honking bluesmaster and standup raconteur Alex Bosworth reading two (2)
of the fourteen seasonal stories from /his/ latest book (there are
fourteen seasons now, to match the fourteen signs of the new zodiac),
music from H.P. Lovecraft Society's maddening masterwork /A Very Scary
Solstice/ and my own personal favorites from the tune vaults of yore.
And news and science, self-help how-tos on various pertinent subjects,
the Poetry of Sleep, waves and rolling waves of glittering drivel, all
culminating at about 4:42am with the inspiring recording of
gravel-voiced William S. Burroughs' intoning /A Junky's Christmas/. Oh,
and Jay Frankston, and the Comtesse DeSpair, the latest in the Saga of
Al, and... There's no way I'll read through the volumes of wondrous crap
I've assembled and organized for this show, and that's okay, because
there's always next week and the week after, and so on, the way it's
been since mid-February of 1997. Don't worry about a thing, darlin',
I'll take care of you.

In short, Memo of the Air: Good Night Radio, 9pm to 5am tonight (Friday,
Dec. 20) on 107.7fm KNYO Fort Bragg (and 105.1fm KMEC Ukiah, and via
KNYO.org), live from KNYO's shop at 325 N. Franklin, next door to the
Tip Top bar.

Deadline to /email/ your writing to be read on the air tonight is 6pm or
so. If you're not done by then, send it whenever and I'll get it when I
get home from the radio station tomorrow morning and then read it on the
air next week, see above. Or phone tonight and read your work in your
own voice: 962-3022, though I'll be switching the phone off while
Holly's in the house so not to interrupt her. You can bliss out to the
Goddess' busy signal just like Merrill Streep did on that powerful and
rare green orchid powder in /Adaptation/.

Meanwhile, here are a few simple educational amusements to settle or
complement your jitters until showtime:

Xmas carols expressed through sexy belly dancing.

Learn about SmartPipe and what it can do for you, the user. It's new,
it's /SmartPipe/.

And the entire New Testament of the King James bible
Asian-accent-screamed at you over the course of nine hours and seventeen
minutes. You don't have to stay for the whole thing; you can enter and
leave at any time; there's no pressure.
