Memo of the Air: Good Night Radio tonight!

Tonight, Friday, August 16, from 9pm to 5am I'm reading Memo of the Air
by live remote from Juanita's apartment, /not/ from the back room of the
KNYO performance space at 325 N. Franklin, next door to the Tip Top bar,
so consider showing-and-telling at KNYO /next/ week, August 23, when
I'll be there rather than here. Max the Piano Player might be there
again too. He graciously gives autographs. A very humble man, gracious,
generous with his valuable time. Rare.

Deadline to get your writing on tonight's show is about 7pm. If that
comes too soon for you, send it whenever it's ready and I'll read it on
a future show.

Memo of the Air: Good Night Radio: Every Friday, 9pm to 5am on 107.7fm
KNYO-LP Fort Bragg, and 105.1fm KMEC-LP Ukiah. Also there and anywhere
else via http://knyo.org and click on Listen.

And you can always go to https://MemoOfTheAir.wordpress.com and hear
last week's show, and shows before that. By Saturday night, the
recording of tonight's MOTA will also be there, right on top.

Also: I put literally thousands of thrilling wonders there to rifle
though while you wait for tonight. Such as:

You know how I've said about helicopters, /That's just brute-force
clawing at the air. Call that flying? 'Cause I don't./ Well, this is
technically a little helicopter, and I call this flying. This is just
like flying in a dream.

"Notice where her eyes are. She's not showing off, she just /doesn't
need to look anymore./"

And captions for a seal. Thing is, there's a caption contest on the last
page of every New Yorker magazine ("Have it your way, you heard a seal
bark." -Thurber) and, I don't know why, but I always imagine the caption
to be something like what this seal is saying. It's just funny, and for
all the same reasons: the little office workers, or rich people at a
cocktail party, or space creatures, or someone trapped on a desert
island, saying, "Blefgh! GAAGH. mmmph!. NNNUHngg," and so on.
