Memo of the Air: Good Night Radio on KNYO-LP Fort Bragg and KMEC-LP Ukiah!

Tonight, 9pm to about 5am, there's Memo of the Air, live from the KNYO 
performance space at 325 N. Franklin, next door to the famous Tip Top 
bar. Your chance to shine. Arrive, head for the moderately brilliantly 
lighted room at the back and show-and-tell, or do your act, or talk 
about your project, or read your own work, or whatever. Last week half a 
dozen people showed up. Most nights it's like two or three come in or 
call. If you come and somebody's in your way, just barge in and assert 
yourself, or sit on the nice (clean) couch and wait for a little while.

But if you can't make it in person, the deadline to email your writing 
to be read on the air tonight is a earlier than usual, for reasons. Send 
it by 4:30pm. I have to grab everything up and work elsewhere in between 
then and town. And if I get home tomorrow morning from the radio station 
and find that you sent something after that deadline, you're just way 
early for next week, that's all. There is both plenty of air and no 
pressure at the same time.

I know what it feels like to be terrified to go someplace in public like 
that and put yourself out there. It is the hardest thing for /me/ to do, 
in a strange place, surrounded by hostile angsty defensive Nice People, 
for example. But at KNYO radio is easy and fun and, sure, you're 
welcomed suspiciously pleasantly, but it's genuine human suspicion, and 
it's quickly dispelled as you're equally genuinely /appreciated/ for 
your contribution to society by simply bravely being you, no matter what 
the hell is wrong with you. You'll see. There's something wrong with 
/everybody/; that's not a bug, it's a feature. And nobody will grab your 
hand and squeeze it like a vise and ominously order you what not to say, 
not on my watch.
