Dear KZYXtalk Readers,
There's an idea I've been pondering for awhile. About a 'no-fly list' for every nonprofit.
It'd be taken up in closed session, of course. To consider the many different ideas contributed by individuals both outside and inside the organization. And whatever they actually contributed.
I've studied LOTS of different nonprofits around here. All of the ideas that produced no results -- or bad results -- seem to come from the same individuals. People who profess expertise they don't have. Or those with bad intentions. Take your pick. If nonprofits can share information about who those individuals are, problems might be avoided. But only under a Non Disclosure Agreement.
MCPB/KZYX -- in my humble opinion, and unfortunately -- is toast. Not because of bad resources, but because of bad ideas. One of the best takeaways I can imagine is to harvest and maintain the source of those ideas, and to give them to other nonprofits. Not to judge them, but only to share them. For the benefit of the community.
That way something good might come out of this.
Sincerely,
Scott M. Peterson
Mendocino
