     ...Speaking of which --Marco here, hi-- I ran out of Boston Blackie 
episodes last week so I'll be closing tonight's show* with the first 
episode ever of /The Shadow/. Over the next terrible weeks and months of 
the aftermath of the oligarchs' coup I'm thinking of running through the 
first year or so of The Shadow, until the ones where Orson Welles split 
and they put that adenoidal what's-his-name in to replace him.

     But that's the close of the show. I have it on good authority that, 
much earlier than that, Biff Rose and a mysterious accompanist will show 
up at the storefront on Franklin (325 N. Franklin, next to the Tip Top 
bar) and perform and declaim for your listening pleasure.

     I just leave the phone on, so if you were planning to call 
(962-3022) to read your composition or whatever, listen for a bit and be 
polite if there's live music happening-- just call a little later, 
that's all. And if you want to show up in the flesh with your own act, 
ready or not, just show up, walk in, head for the lighted room at the 
back and get my attention. If there's something that seems slightly 
uninterruptible going on, have a seat for a bit on the giant couch, 
which has been recently sanitized and semi-professionally plumped up for 
your safety and comfort.

     *9pm to 3 or 4am ,107.7fm KNYO in or near Fort Bragg midnight to 
3am, 105.1 KMEC Ukiah, and http://knyo.org there and everywhere else 
there's electricity.
