Johanna Wildoak (what a misappropriation of a name) sits on the most
import hour of talk time radio. And blames the victims.
The Fisher family of San Francisco, 3 brothers, who own 10% of Mendocino
County landscape, have thus far spent one quarter million dollars in their
attempt to defeat Measure V. They have hack&squirted 90,000 acres of
Mendocino County forestland thus far, and left millions of tan oak and
other hardwoods standing dead. Thus depriving the forest of canopy
coverage
that retains the moisture in the soil, moisture which retards fire from
spreading.
44% of the wildfires initiated by lightning strikes during the lightning
strike complex fires of 2008 were on forestlands owned by these 3
billionaire brothers (worth approximately 3 billion a piece). They have
laced the land they own privately as a limited partnership with wave after
wave of deliberately killed trees left standing dead. During that really
scarey Comptche fire of 2012, the CalFire Battalion chief told residents
they would have to fare on their own: he had to concentrate on stopping
the
fire from igniting one of the MRC dead zones because once started the fire
would burn all the way to Ukiah. From Comptche to Ukiah.
There is no way for residential property owners to protect themselves from
fires that initiate in the areas hack and squirted with industrial poisons
and left standing dead (in some places dead for more than a decade now
while MRC counts the carbon and saves itself the cost of removal).
KZYX listeners need to know how Measures V AND W will make Mendocino
County more fire safe. Community radio is the public square.
