[Kzyxtalk] Is it time for community action?

More dead air today at KZYX, as more and more equipment fails. Yet, staff salaries remain the highest priority at the station. Not equipment. Not technology. Not a Ukiah studio. Salaries are the highest priority. Salaries. Salaries. Salaries. Unclosed salaries.
But the secret is out. The good people of Mendocino County now know that KZYX is a private jobs program. It's certainly not community radio. And KZYX Executive Director, General Manager, and Grand Vizier, John Coate -- I think I have all his titles -- stays silent throughout it all as the station's vital signs start to flicker and fail.
Joel Waldman raises interesting possibilities in the thread below.
I'm in. It's time for community action.
Joel Waldman's metaphor of comparing Coate to the 27-year-old German co-pilot, who l ocked cockpit door, as he deliberately and wordlessly smashed an Airbus carrying 150 people into an Alpine mountainside, is chilling.
In how many ways is the final account of KZYZ like the final moments of Germanwings Flight 9525? The plane is rapiding falling. The peaks of the French Alps are rushing towards us. It's sickening. And the pilot doesn't answer. He is bent upon self-destruction, and he will take us with him.

John Coate is locked in his secured cockpit.
Replace him with Marco McClean, a man who knows and loves local radio.
Or do we wait for more dead air to let John take down the ship that so
many of us have built ?
I believe in fair and open elections.
But how do we vote on replacing the inept manager and his fawning
Tweedle-Dum and Tweedle-Dee sycophants?
What will it cost to fire him?
Would it help to gather in the parking lot?
Serious replies only, please.
