Hi Carole,
KMEC Radio is be heard in Ukiah at 105.1 FM. We also stream live from the web at www.kmecradio.org .
Our studio is located in the offices of the Mendocino Environmental Center. When you support KMEC Radio, you are also supporting the work of the Mendocino Environmental Center and the Cloud Forest Institute. Currently, we are organizing to stop the hack-and-squirt practice -- chemical tree removal -- which is poisoning our water, poisoning forest animals, and making a tinder box of dead standing trees in our forests. Our forects are being purged of tan oak, ceanothus, and madrone by big commercial timber companies.
You can join our community by becoming a member: http://www.kmecradio.org/donate/
We have big improvements planned for this summer. KMEC will soon be heard throughout the Ukiah Valley. The FCC gave us a permit to relocate our antennae in a better location and at a higher evaluation -- actually in Redwood Valley. Formerly, the KMEC antennae was located in the City of Ukiah and our broadcast area was restricted pretty much to the city limits.
Our shows are permanently archived. Many of our shows at posted to Youtube.
On my public affairs show, which I host with Sid Cooperrider -- Els and Allan Cooperrider's son -- we interview national guests on national issues. Our show airs weekly on Monday at 1 p.m.
My production team and I are hoping that a major foundation will soon be funding the show and its work in developing a curriculum for professional responsibility for the next generation of federal law enforcement, national security, and intelligence agents, and mid
level career military officers, based on a series of 15-20 interviews we've conducted with leading whistleblowers from these areas.
Again, KMEC Radio and the Mendocino Environmental Center is staffed only volunteers -- no paid full-time staff. Our budget is only $19,000. The budget over at KZYX is $550,000.
John

Where can KMEC be found on the dial? I wonder if it reaches us? We get great coverage from KZYX/Z.
Carole
