[Kzyxtalk] Cost of Maintaining Signal Quality

1. $20,000 seems like a lot for STL.  KMEC just installed one to send signal from office to new antenna on northern hills.  I believe total cost was under $2,000.

2. It is possible to move the antenna location three (3) miles or less without waiting for FCC major change window.  Such a move would be considered a "minor change" and can happen anytime after confirming that location will not interfere with other signals.  There would be no such interference if any of KZYX antennas were moved three miles or less.  Small change in antenna location might help with line-of-sight STL without diminishing signal to public.

So perhaps there is a way to permanently fix signal problem without huge expense or moving main studio.
