[Kzyxtalk] Saving Our Station

THE DISCUSSION: THIS THURSDAY, DECEMBER 17TH AT 7PM might be the last "The Discussion" (formerly Open Lines) program on kzyx/z. This is supposed to be Our forum to Talk To Each Other, but it never is, due to such low listenership. Why is this? Mostly because folks do not support and call in on this show. The station will not promo it either. We do not know it is on until 6pm on the day of the program, IF you are listening to the Local News. If you are not tuned in to just before the Local News at 6pm, you will not hear a word about The Discussion being on that night. Never. Why do they refuse to Promo this program? Maybe they do not want us to talk to each other. The 5th Thursday of the month (which will be Dec. 31st-New Year's Eve), is supposed to be the show that We The People can talk to them about our station, but I believe that Mary is canceling this show, due to it being on New Year's Eve. That is really too bad, as at this time we need to talk to them about issues at our station.
PLEASE TUNE IN AT 7PM THIS THURSDAY AND JOIN THE DISCUSSION! We have a lot to talk about at this crucial time in the life of OUR Radio Station, I hope you agree. Pass the word and call in and lets's talk to each other about what is going on at  kzyx/z! Without the ability for US to talk to each other, any democratic reforms at our station will not happen. We need to Organize for Justice at kzyx/z, at long last! Please get involved.

BECOMING A MEMBER BEFOR THE END OF THE YEAR: If you want to VOTE in the next Station Election in the Spring of 2016, you must become a Member by Wednesday, December 30th! (they leave early on New Year's Eve). A "Simple Living Membership" is only $25.00 and entitles you to full Membership access, and Voting Rights. They do not want you to know about this Low Income Membership option, because they think that we will take advantage of it, and not send them more money. Paranoid, aren't they? If we want to keep OUR station alive, and have more money, I know we will send it to them. But, for the low income folks among us, me included, who still support the station, this $25.00 option is a life saver. So, be sure to become a Member In Good Standing by Wednesday, December 30th, no matter what level you pledge at. Our voting in great numbers in the next election (as in our national elections!) is very important for a Democratic, Open, Transparent, Peoples Radio Station, where we are heard, listened to and respected.
