[Kzyxtalk] MendoVito or develop existing?

Dear Douglass and critics of MendoVito,
I think it is too soon to make a judgement on this MendoVito project. It's seems unlikely given public scrutiny that a contractor scam could be pulled off. And so far no developer is involved. In the case of MendoVito at least there is some ecological awareness, and maybe even social imagination. The status quo of housing projects is not better, is it?
Ecological health requires concentration of humans in towns and villages. Otherwise, we spread ourselves like peanut butter all over the watershed. But a whole new development? Sandy Turner, long-term community housing activist, suggests that rather than erecting new buildings we should develop existing buildings. Many would agree, but then what rehab community-generated projects are there? Who's got ideas?
