[Kzyxtalk] Community Vision and Community Adviosry Boards

The answer that is commonly given to this question is that the
membership elects the board and the board controls the philosophy.
Which brings us back to the place I entered this discussion -- if we are
in fact a majority, or at least a significant minority of the
membership, how do we elect a board that better reflects out views? My
answer would be by running a slate of candidates (starting with Doug who
almost won in the last election) who have the skills to be good board
members. Who have taken the time before the election to become familiar
enough with MCPB policies, procedures and problems that they come across
well in the candidates night, whose agenda is clearly about improving
the quality of KZYX and Z's broadcasts (sorry, King, but this is not the
same as increasing board transparency -- a legitimate agenda, but not
one which is going to get you elected to the Board for another term),
and who do not seem to most listeners to be either ego or personal
agenda driven.
