When referring to KZYX Engineer Rich Culbertson spitting at Ms. Massey, Jeff Blankfort writes, and I quote: "Since I was not there and Massey’s report of a previous visit to the station seemed more fantasy than fact, I cannot vouch for what did or did not happen but, frankly, if it did as she claims, I could understand it." 

Blankfort can understand a KZYX staff member spitting at a woman who is prospective volunteer? 

Shocking. Absolutely shocking. This spitting incident is a new low for the usual boorish behavior of KZYX staff, and their defenders and apologists.

I have so many bones to pick with so many of our self-important neighbors, it sometimes makes me doubt my very own collegiality. 

Fat Bruce has yet to apologize to my wife, Mrs. Waldman, for publishing a scabrous lie in his filthy sheet regarding our relationship. 

I refuse to enrich that bloated boor by either purchasing one of his rags or by subscribing to his on-line schmutz. 

Perhaps if you paraphrased Blankfort of Arabia's latest two-bit attempt at brown-nosing the boys and girls of Philo's "Hair Club," it might slake my morbid curiosity viz-a-viz the ultimate fate of the above-mentioned clowns.

One other thing. My informal objections at the FCC to the renewal of Mendocino County Broadcasting’s two licenses, KZYX and KZYZ, were not attempts to shut down the station, as you imply. My objections were filed contingent upon a change in management at the station. Let me repeat: Upon a change in management. In other words, I filed the objections to save the station — to return it to the status of being a truly “public” public radio station, instead of the closed clubhouse it now is. 




Congratulations, my friend. With today’s misogynistic letter you have now earned a lifetime membership in that club.
