Who develops the agenda and how is key to the Board -- the entire Board -- stepping up and finally doing its job of overseeing Coat and Aigner.

A good plan John.
It amazes me that you're a Bd. Member and haven't been told about the agenda process.. I think it is time for Bd. Members to insist on having a training session as was offered by Michael Kisslinger over 6 months ago at the Annual Membership meeting. Now that he is employed by the station, it may be wise to get someone who isn't on the payroll. I wonder if his rise at the station is a coincidence or payback for not making waves about the training.
Anyway, King said that during his time on the Board, the other Board members fought and won the battle to have equal opportunity with the Board President to add items to the agenda. The way the Bd. has been operating is that once those Bd. members who changed Bd. policy have left station, the station management and the rest of the Bd. develop a case of amnesia.

Eliane,

I'm not sure who develops the Board of Directors's meeting agenda, but for other boards and commissions on which I sit, any Board member can submit agenda items for consideration through the Chair.

That said, I am requesting that at our next Board meeting, we have updates on the following:

    • most recent monthly station finances, including bank borrowings (if any);
    • FCC license renewal update;
    • date for returning "Open Lines" to the air;
    • date for lifting of Doug McKenty's suspension;
    • reason why the last quarterly Board meeting was canceled;
    • Community Advisory Committee report, and
    • Board elections report, including assurances that management neither recruited candidates or discouraged potential candidates from running for open seats on the Board..

Thank you.

John
