[Kzyxtalk] kzyxtalk…Does it help or harm?

I'm torn between shutting down kzyxtalk and continuing the "discourse". Yes, it certainly has fallen short of what it could have been; constructive dialogue about making the station better. Instead it seemed to be mostly about getting up on the soapbox and esposing. Below is a quote from John Sakowitz:

won't argue on this listserv. I've had enough conflict. And I'm tired of being a whipping boy.

Yeah right. This sort of stuff I have to admit is entertaining in a way, but not really helpful. Personally, I'm tired of it and will withdraw from the list as most people I know have already done.... Which brings to mind the quote: "When one wrestles with pigs, one get muddy". I'm tired of wrestling with pigs. I'm tired of getting muddy.

I say kill the list.

Norman. Please stay put. This site will evolve. And it is the only pertinent game. Thank you for originating it. --beth bosk

Ann,

I had hoped, when I launched kzyxtalk some months ago, it would provide
a forum to express ideas, differences and eventually find co-operative
suggestions that would benefit the station. A forum which station management,
board, members and listeners could raise issues which could not be broadcast.

Indeed, what an irony? To go to the internet to discuss what could not be
said on any radio program being aired.

Once again I was overly optimistic that we would contribute, build and do better.

But if kzyxtalk has become a platform to tear down the station and find only
fault, I ask you, should I take down the kzyxtalk list.serv?

I would appreciate yours and others opinion.
