Hello All,
Thank you Tim for your positive feedback to my 12/26 comments. It is
feedback like yours and that which I received from 3 other folks that
keeps me going!
I would like to share this info about a *transitionus webinar
<http://transitionus.org/event/re-weaving-local-transition-towns-timebanking>*
that took place on 1/20 about *Time-Banking*
<http://timebanks.org/get-started/start/> and the newly formed *Time
Bank Media site <http://timebankmedia.org/>* from *Transition Town Media
<http://transitiontownmedia.org/>*. Though I highly recommend taking a
look at all 3 of the sites linked here, I think starting a Time Bank
here on the coast would be an excellent way for us to get moving forward
to building social capital within our communities, and therefore
becoming less dependent on the corporations we are working to abolish.
I am right now perusing the enormous amount of information provided by
these new resources but I am specifically interested in being a
coordinator for a local time bank. Therefore, I am looking for people
who are interested in joining me in a start-up group. I also would like
to engage some young people, including high school students, in this
project and perhaps encourage them to start some projects of their own.
Suggestions on any of these ideas would be greatly appreciated.
To find out more about starting a Time Bank, go to both of the Time Bank
sites linked above - /
timebanks.org <http://timebanks.org/get-started/start/>/ and
/timebankmedia.org <http://timebankmedia.org/>/

Everything we need to begin creating the change we wish to see in the
world is available to us. Information about literally anything is at
our fingertips, and there are some outstanding model projects out there
from which to model or glean ideas.
Peace,
Tammy
