[CRNMC] Distinction between our initiative and the Sup's

Sorry to be so loquacious but this seems important too...

I spoke to Dan Gjerde today. He does NOT think the supervisors will have a ballot initiative. Theirs will be, if it passes by a majority of the sups, a county anti-fracking ordinance - in house - so to speak. So when we are gathering signatures for our community rights/anti-fracking initiative we can make the distinction (if anyone asks, and even if they don't) between the two.

My guess is that not a lot of people are even going to know about the supervisors ordinance unless they are really paying attention. Nonetheless it is a great idea to attend the Sups meeting on the 20th to support them.

We were the ones who started the sups thinking along the lines of a moratorium last year. We just wanted to get a moratorium in place before fracking becomes legal in California. Then Dan Gjerde decided he wanted to fold it into existing county regs about oil drilling off the coast. So I just learned yesterday that it would be on the agenda May 20.
