I'm a firm believer in creating an offer that cannot be refused. This takes planning and a strong commitment to "getting it right" before seeking buy-in from others.
Better than merely showing the Ordinance to a key respondent or potential supporter is to create a total package, a proposal for support that leads them in, guides them to understand the Ordinance and its context, and then makes them want to support it.
I look at it as if we only get one chance to engender their support; so we better get it right from the get-go.
So, I guess I'm suggesting that the committee in charge of outreach for support consider this "total package" before anything is said or offered.
