[CRNMC] Let's Get It ON!

I second that, Beth. I am out everyday. Ukiah Co-op needs to be covered
as does Mariposa in Willits. It's easy to get signatures, folks want to
sign when they realize what we are doing. Please help. It would be
fantastic if we make our count by next Monday...and it is very possible if
we all work together.

Blessings,
Kelly

My strategy:
I say "Will you sign to protect Mendocino's water?" and 90% of the people
turn and walk toward me. Then I ask "Are you a Mendocino voter?".
After they sign (or if folks tell me no) I ask "Can I give you some
information on what we are trying to do here in Mendocino?" and hand them
the Fracking - Water - Who Decides? flyer, then I say, "Our website is on
the bottom here, and also hand them a flyer for the events this weekend and
talk that up.
Some don't know what fracking is, and as soon as I describe it, they sign.
It's nice to do it in pairs, and have fun! I keep it light...this is
empowering. I am also registering a lot of young people who don't want to
be involved in the national politics, but love the idea of being active in
the county.
I have a sign "Don't Frack Mendocino" and the beautiful water sign we made
behind me or on the ironing board.
I use a long piece of cardboard with rubber bands to put the petition on
for folks to sign with a half page

I'd love to meet with anyone who needs help getting started. Most days I
am at the Ukiah Co-op. Just give me a call...
