[CRNMC] Potluck Sunday 7/ 13, Noon

CRN people,

I regret that you scheduled this potluck/organizing meeting on a day when
the Meeting for Mendocino County Charter planned to meet.  Six of us
activists from Occupy Ukiah and Occupy Mendocino have been working on
this, speaking with Supervisors for over 2 and a half years. This is our
first priority when there is a conflict in scheduling with CRNMC.

This charter if passed in November would enable the county to set up a
Public Bank Commission. I passed out the Occucards on Public Banking at
our last CRN potluck. If you read it you would know how important the work
is to establish Mendocino as a Charter County which enables us to
establish a Public Bank. If you want to read the Charter which we plan to
revise in order to get 3 votes from the Supervisors who then will put it
on the ballot without 6,450 signatures. Then we would need voters to
approve it by 50% plus one of the electorate.To read the Charter:

         Twenty states including CA are introducing legislation to make
State Public Banks, like the Bank of North Dakota. You can view
their bank at www.BND.com and see the advantages of Public versus
Private banks.
