Subject: Notice of Public Stakeholder Meeting to Develop Groundwater
Monitoring Model Criteria for Oil and Gas Areas
To: DOGGR_REGULATIONS_INFORMATION at listserv.state.ca.gov
The California Department of Conservation is sending you this email on
behalf of the California State Water Resources Control Board (State Water
Board) because you have indicated an interest in the regulation of oil and
gas production in California. On August 7th, the State Water Board is
commencing a public stakeholder process for developing "model criteria for
groundwater monitoring," in and around oil and gas wells subject to well
stimulation treatments, as specified in Senate Bill 4, passed by the
Legislature and signed by the Governor in September 2013.
Below are informative links to information about the State Water Board’s
initial stakeholder meeting for the development of model criteria for
groundwater monitoring, a link to subscribe to updates from State Water
Board about the process, and information about whom to contact at State
Water Board with questions about the process. In keeping with the
Department of Conservation's email privacy policies, this email is sent
only as a courtesy on behalf of the SWRCB as a cooperating State agency.
Please contact the State Water Board for additional information about
their public process for the development of model criteria for groundwater
monitoring, or to sign up for future email notifications about any other
SWRCB rule making processes.
