Hello all
It was great to be there and thanks to everyone for ALL the effort to date. It is so exciting when we come to a crossroads like this.
During the meeting it was looking like it might not go on the ballot…and then….by surprise, it all turned around.
Appreciation for the number of signatures and the actively engaged citizens was what I saw as the key to what brought those around for this milestone's success.
So…Our road ahead seems like another chance to gather and demonstrate our power as citizens.
May we continue to gain ground as we work together to claim our rights.
ONWARD…
Carrie

That was bantered about for a while, with Care Brown supporting it, until a vote on it failed 2-2-1 -- John Pinches abstained due to being 'so confused he didn't know how to vote.' Then just before the final vote, McCowen, Brown, and Pinches all expressed their non-support of the initiative, but also that they didn't want so many voters (over 6,000) to not vote on what they wanted, and so would support putting the initiative on the ballot.
